Admin Panel For BabStats v5.XPrefaceThis manual is to help you understand the functions available to the admin. Of course, before making changes to anything, please backup your stats. We assume you have the login name and password for the admin section of your stats page. This info was listed in the config.php file when stats were first setup. Click on the admin link. It should take you to the admin login page. Enter the correct username and then password and click on login. The first page you come to has no admin functions on it, nothing but links to pages that do, so lets get started setting up your stats site. FAQ LINKThis holds some information on how to get help with a problem or question and some basic answers to frequently asked questions. SERVER LINKNow lets get to setting up your stats site. First, lets setup a server in the stats pages. Click on the Servers link. This is where you put in the information necessary for the uploader to connect to the stats pages. In the Server name box you can call your server whatever name you'd like. It really doesn't affect anything. In the box below this one is the Server ID code box. This one is important. This code can be whatever you like it to be, using a mixture of numbers and letters is the most securest. What ever you setup as the ID write down, because you will need this information later when you setup the uploader on the server machine if you host your own server, or you will need to provide it to the game host if you rent your server elsewhere. (Setting up the uploader is not covered in this manual) Every server that you setup to allow to send stats to your pages must have a different server ID code. You may setup several servers to send stats to the pages, and they all can be hosting at the same time. Once you get the server up and running you can click on the server name in either the normal section or the admin section and get more detailed information on the hosting server. In the admin section you may add notes to describe the server, such as LW, DF2, or TFD or anything else you would like in the Server info box. This info will be displayed on the server page.
AWARDS LINKWhen you click on the Awards Link it will take you to a page where you may rename the medal, replace a image for the medal and also set levels for earning the awards. The image are loaded into the Nova_medals folder. RANKS LINKThis is very similar to the Awards link. You can rename the rank, set the image for the rank and set the limits needed to get each rank. There is also a list showing Rating points for player and weapons stats. Depending on how well you do in a map and what type weapon you use as to differences in a ranking. Not all weapons carry the same point value.
PLAYERS LINKClicking on the Players link takes you to the admin page where you can rename the player, set player to a squad or delete the player from the stats altogether. It also gives a listing of the players stats. Be careful with this feature. Once player is deleted, there is no turning back. WEAPONS LINKThis shows the list of weapons tracked. There isn't any changes you can make here on this page, but if you click on an individual weapon it will take you to a page listing the weapon and information about it. You can delete the weapon stats for certain squads or players here. You can even delete the stats for the weapon altogether. On this page you can also select to see the weapons stats for selected squads you have previously setup. MAPS LINKClicking on this link takes you first to a listing of all the maps stats have been recorded for, as well as some basic stats for each map listed. It also shows a thumbnail image of the map. If you click on the name of the map it takes you to the maps individual page where more detailed info on the map is visible including players who have recorded stats on that map including being able to select specific squad stats for that map if squads have previously been setup. Other admin functions available here are that you can delete map stats for certain individuals or squads or delete the map altogether. You can also change the image and thumbnail for the particular map here. You will have to play with the sizes of the image and thumbnails to see what works best for you. If you have access to the Maps folder, check the size of one of the Thumbnails and image to give you a good place to start. SQUAD LINKBy clicking on this link you are taken to where you setup individual squads. You can input other info about the particular squad such as homepage and if they have an badge designed for their squad. One word on badges, to large of ones will really distort your stats page. As it states you can use the squads URL as a badge image. Just look at the example given. MISC LINKThis is the area that you can do a lot of damage in....:) Please make sure of what you are doing in this area. Lets start with the Delete/Show Inactives link. Here you can prune players who are inactive. First you have the ability to have it show you inactive players per the limits you input for number of days. If you choose then to delete the players listed, input that same data into the delete inactive players box. Make sure you want to do what you have put into the box before hitting the delete button....:) The Delete/Show low kills is just like the above Delete/Show inactive players. This one use caution with also. The Delete/Show Non-squad members is for locating and removing if you choose to any player not listed with a squad. Using this link will leave any members assigned to a squad. The Reset Monthly Stats link - You can use this to reset your monthly stats. This does not reset the Overall Stats. At the first of the month, the monthly stats should reset to 0 and the HOF should record the file stats so that you can go back and see different months. The Reset Stats link- is self explanatory. You click on this and it will take you to a page that will ask you if you really want to wipe all your stats clean ( and I do mean all stats Overall and Monthly ) The Backup/Restore link - you can make backups of your stats here. Click on view current Stats dump. Then copy all the information that appears in the box to a txt file and called it whatever you like. Save the file, then if you need to restore the stats to that level, click on import stats dump. Then go open the txt file you just made, highlight all the info and copy. Then go to the txt box on the import stats dump and paste the info into that box. Then click on the import box which should restore you stats back to the level it was when the dump was made. You may want to do the backup fairly often so you have a current dump file to fall back on. Now, the boxes above the View current Stats dump are for if you web host doesn't support CHMOD as stated. You can make backup files using this method. First create a name for the html file and then click on create New Backup. The backup is kept on the site and retrieved from there by using the drop down boxes and clicking on the file you want to use. You may also delete the backup.html file by clicking on the appropriate button. Again, may want to do this frequently and then delete the older file to keep a fairly current backup. The Repair Database link - Is pretty self-explanatory. By clicking this link, it runs a repair on the database that is used for your stats. The Install Link - This feature is not yet available. ADMIN LINKThis feature is one where you can add one admin to help take care of the stats or you can change your admin login. The admin login that was setup in the config.php remains the same. This will not change that login information. Return to StatsClicking on this will return you back to your normal stat pages and out of the admin area. Hopefully this manual will give you a good place to start from. If you notice anything that isn't covered in here, please bring it to our attention at www.babstats.com. Thanks, BabStats Staff |
