SKUNK`s ! 2 went in my house !

This happened to me.
2 skunk`s came in house Surprised

I couldn`t sleep about 2:30am so I decided to ride my mountain bike on the sidewalk near my house & leave my door open to let the fresh mountain night air in since the highway was mostly clear of vehicles exaust fumes.I didn`t want to ride far since my door was open so I just was riding my bike where I could watch my door with a decent view.I saw two skunks round the corner of my apartment.A little one about the size of a kitten went right inside my living room and was smelling around with another big one just inside the door walking to go all the way in as well.The big one was just inside the door.I wanted to shout NO at the top of my lungs but I was afraid they would spray inside my house if it spooked them.I just kept saying in a low voice no no no no no no...The little one saw me and ran out of the house like a scared kitten.The big one just stood at the door not afraid of me at all.It started walking to me and I rode my bike a little futher away.It stayed near my apartment outside smelling in my tomato plants I had planted,then walked to my car under it.I thought since I only saw one baby skunk inside my house their may be more babies inside that I didn`t see go inside & maybe a big one to.I left my bike outside and then peeked inside my door but saw no skunks inside from my view.I was afraid they may have went to other places in the house.I wanted to leave the door open to let them walk out not spooked if some were still inside but I also wanted the door closed to keep the others out.I sit on the couch with the door closed reading & listening for the sound of anything anywhere in my house for over an hour but never heard anything.

If they had sprayed in my house I wouldn`t have been able to live in it until the smell went away which would have taken forever.I saw a baby skunk dead at the top of the hill near my house that a car had hit.Their are dogs running loose where I live that spook a skunk several times a month stinking the whole neighborhood for days.My cousin who lives on the opposite side of the hill from me said a skunk with babies following it almost went into their house through their open door to except in broad daylight.Those big ones do not show any fear of people.Now I just leave all my windows open letting the fresh air in.I just am now having little tomatos and straberries I planted show on their plants.I`m afraid the skunks will eat all my stuff in my little garden now.If you live near the woods do not leave your door open at night or day for any period of time is my advice.I was very lucky my house did not get sprayed.I`m glad the little one decided to run back out and not spray as it ran out.That little skunk may as well had been as big as a bear me seeing it looking at me while it was inside my house Embarassed

I have to admit it sure was a cute little creature though,In one way.

Summary : A little skunk went in my house and another big one just barley made it in to.
